Leib v. Rex Energy Operating Corp., 256 F.R.D. 178 (S.D. Ill. 2009)In this case, VBLH&C represented plaintiffs, residents of Bridgeport and Petrolia, Illinois, alleging a violation of the Illinois Environmental Protection Act and Illinois common law arising from exposure to poisonous gas. The plaintiffs moved to certify a class of those affected by the toxin. But the defendants argued that the plaintiffs’ class definition was insufficient. The court rejected that argument and certified a class.
